New Role to Strengthen Coordination and Data-sharing with Licensing Boards Nationwide
Baltimore, MD – March 31, 2026 – The National Board of Podiatric Medical Examiners (NBPME), the nonprofit organization which enacts the policy, guides the development, and oversees the administration of the examinations used for podiatric medical licensing in the United States, has named Robert “Tim” Yoho, DPM as its new State Board Liaison.
In this role, Dr. Yoho will act as the primary link between the NBPME and the podiatric medical licensing boards across all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Each jurisdiction maintains unique licensure requirements, laws, and data processes. Dr. Yoho will help align NBPME resources to better support these diverse needs.
Starting April 1, the NBPME will allow students to send their American Podiatric Medical Licensing Examination (APMLE) Part I, Part II, and Part III scores through Meazure Learning’s Connect Portal directly to state licensing boards and other designated third parties—at no additional cost. This enhancement simplifies the licensure process and reduces administrative barriers for candidates and boards alike.
“Dr. Yoho is widely recognized and respected throughout the podiatric medical community, and he will be instrumental helping streamline our data sharing and relationships with the state licensing boards as we continue to modernize the NBPME,” says Dr. Oleg Petrov, President, NBPME. “We now have the resources and technological capability to support the state licensing boards directly and look forward to helping them with the confirmation and clarity of their podiatric medical data.”
Dr. Yoho is a podiatric physician and longtime academic leader, having served more than 20 years as Dean of the College of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery at Des Moines University and now as Dean Emeritus. He is a Fellow of the American College of Foot & Ankle Surgeons and has been recognized with numerous honors, including induction into the Kent State University College of Podiatric Medicine Hall of Fame and its Distinguished Alumni Award.
“I’m honored to support the NBPME and collaborate with state boards to improve consistency, transparency, and efficiency in licensure data,” said Dr. Yoho. “This is an important step forward not only for the NBPME and licensing boards, but also for the future podiatric medical world.”
